ChatGPT Website Traffic Fell for the First Time

ChatGPT

Since OpenAI’s ChatGPT came out in November, the smart AI-powered chatbot has taken the world by storm. People are trying out the tool and talking about how it might change the workplace and society as a whole.

But for the first time since ChatGPT came out at the end of last year, the number of people who visit its website has gone down, according to an analytics company called Similarweb.

It found that the number of unique users to OpenAI’s ChatGPT site fell by 5.7% in June, while the number of people visiting the site from all over the world fell by 9.7%. Also, 8.5% less time was spent on the site by each user.

Similarweb’s analysis shows that traffic to the website started to level off in May. If you’ve been watching the chatbot’s ups and downs closely, June’s results may not come as a big surprise.

The analytics company did note, though, that the ChatGPT site still gets more users than Microsoft’s Bing.com and Character. AI, the second-most famous site with just an AI chatbot, said that Character. AI also fell by 32% from one month to the next.

Also, the arrival of ChatGPT has sparked a lot of interest in generative AI and similar tools. These include not only text-based tools but also new software that can make images and videos. In other words, as people learn more about the technology, they might also try out other AI tools.

Taking all of this into account, it’s not easy to say that people are losing interest in ChatGPT, though some people may have tried it for a short time and then stopped.
