A report from China claims that ASUS has decided to postpone its ROG Phone 3 and ZenFone 7 launch due to the coronavirus pandemic. We usually see the two phones launch around July and May, respectively. While some of you might be disappointed with this news, on the flip side, the ROG Phone 3 has unintentionally put itself in the position to sport an overclocked version of Snapdragon 865. Nearly every year, Qualcomm announces a higher-performing flagship chipset that’s almost mainly reserved for gaming handsets. This is the same thing for ROG Phone 2 which launched last year with Snapdragon 855+ SoC.Â
As for the Zenfone 7, we originally thought that the Zenfone 6 would be the last Zenfone from the company, despite being one of the fan-favorites for its flip-out main cameras. But, it seems like ASUS is giving itself a chance to recuperate from its loss for the past several years. After an experimental year, we can’t say how the company would design the Zenfone 7. There’s also a good chance that cameras won’t be flipping anytime soon.
