Because ‘4’ is an unlucky number, ROG Phone 4 is out, and ROG Phone 5 is in.
Through a landing page, ASUS has confirmed the name and the launch date of the ROG Phone 5. It’s going to launch on March 5 at 7 PM (UTC+8). That’s also the same time and day in the Philippines if you’re wondering.Â
ROG Phone 5 won’t drastically look different from its predecessors, as earlier leaks suggest. While we can expect the best specs from a phone (again) from ASUS, its new gaming device will feature new Aura Lighting on the back, featuring Dot-Matrix technology akin to the ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop. There’s also a secondary display beside it that shows notifications.Â
There’s not a lot to confirm regarding the specs of the ROG Phone 5, but according to rumors, the 6000mAh battery will be staying as well as the 6.78″ OLED. However, we won’t be surprised if the screen is clocked up to 160Hz and the charging rate at 120W.Â
