Apple has introduced its new Mac Studio desktop, now powered by the M5 Max and new M5 Ultra chips.
The Mac Studio with M5 Max comes with an 18-core CPU, up to a 40-core GPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory. The M5 Ultra version goes up to a 36-core CPU, 80-core GPU, and 512GB of unified memory.
Apple says the M5 Ultra can deliver up to 4.3 times faster AI performance than the previous M3 Ultra, while graphics performance is up to 1.8 times faster. The system also offers up to 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth.
For connectivity, the new Mac Studio adds Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with Thunderbolt 5 ports supporting transfer speeds of up to 120Gbps. It can support up to eight displays.
Apple is also highlighting the Mac Studio for local AI workloads, allowing users to run large language models directly on the device using its unified memory.
In the Philippines, the Mac Studio with M5 Max starts at PHP 169,990, while the M5 Ultra model starts at PHP 379,990. Education pricing starts at PHP 155,990 and PHP 351,990, respectively.
The new Mac Studio will run macOS 27, which is set to arrive as a free software update this fall.
