Apple will soon land on LG as an alternative source for Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) screens. By reducing its reliance with the rival, Samsung, it will also cut its manufacturing costs.

LG will deliver between 2 and 4 million units which are smaller compared to Samsung which can provide Apple a hundred million OLED displays. So, 20% will be for LG and the rest is for Samsung. But according to related sources, LG is aiming for a higher cut but is not yet ready to meet its full demands.

The Korea-based company recently launched their V30 which also features the OLED display, however, it has been said that its display quality is not as good with Samsung’s OLED displays.

According to some reports, Apple has invested $2.7 billion dedicated for OLED production in LG.

If happened that LG can meet the requirements, it would help Apple gain leverage with Samsung in terms of negotiations with the price.
