Apple has officially announced the AirPods Max 2, the second-generation version of its over-ear headphones.
The new model features the Apple H2 chip, bringing improved active noise cancellation, updated audio performance, and several new software features.
The company claims that the headphones offer up to 1.5 times more effective Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) compared to the previous AirPods Max.
New computational audio algorithms and the updated microphone system also improve Transparency mode, making outside sounds clearer and more natural.

AirPods Max 2 retain the same over-ear design but introduce a new high-dynamic-range amplifier.
According to Apple, the update improves instrument separation, bass consistency, and overall audio clarity.
When connected using the included USB-C cable, the headphones support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio. This also enables ultra-low latency audio, which can be useful for music production workflows in apps such as Logic Pro. With the wired connection, users can create and mix audio in Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking.
Several software features are also being added to the headphones for the first time, including:

Other features include Personalized Volume, Loud Sound Reduction, and gesture-based Siri responses using head movements.
AirPods Max 2 will be available in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue colorways.

The AirPods Max 2 is priced at PHP 34,990 in the Philippines. It will be available to order starting March 25 2026.
