While we wait for OnePlus Nord’s arrival in the Philippines, the never-settling company is apparently preparing a cheaper alternative already. This time, though, there’s no over-the-top announcement and teaser. Instead, it’s a Geekbench listing that spilled the beans. According to the benchmark, OnePlus CLOVER will feature Snapdragon 660 with 4GB RAM to pair. Furthermore, the device tested runs on Android 10 already.
Ok, so let’s talk about that chipset. Snapdragon 660 is not a new SoC, it’s from 2017. In 2020, a few brands are still selling SD660-powered phones, but they are considered as near-entry level already. For a company that never settles, it’s a bit ironic. According to a separate leak, it seems that this CLOVER phone is going to pack “everything you need”. In the shared video, the renders show dual-camera and triple-camera phones. Apparently, they are going to be called Aurora. As for the different camera setups, we guess OnePlus plans to launch a Plus or Pro version of this new and upcoming lineup.
