Kraven the Hunter is having his own solo film and has found its titular villain.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been confirmed by IGN that Sony cast him as Kraven the Hunter in the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff film which is set to release on January 2023.
You may know Taylor-Johnson in other films but his notable ones are Kickass in the film Kickass and its sequel. He also made his debut in the MCU as Pietro Maximoff, the twin of Wanda Maximoff, in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
This time, Taylor-Johnson will take on the furry mantel of Spidey’s oldest villains who is a skilled hunter. This is one of the countless Spider-Man spinoff movies, like Venom 2 and Morbius, which Sony has previously announced in expanding their Spidey Cinematic Universe, besides their mainline Spider-Man stories such as Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Kraven the Hunter will be directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) and is eyeing for a January 13, 2023 release.
