After months of rumors and speculations, Nokia’s first 5G phone finally has been announced — meet Nokia 8.3 5G. Just like how leaked renders portrayed, the premium mid-range device dons a glass exterior in an aurora-like finish called Polar Night. Among the highlights is the 64MP quad-Zeiss camera setup. Pre-orders start September 23 on Amazon for a suggested retail price of $699(~Php33,900).
Nokia 8.3 5G comes equipped with Snapdragon 765G, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. HMD Global was kind enough to include an audio jack, especially when it’s becoming an omitted feature in the mid-range segment. There’s no shortage of buttons as well, as the Google Assistant button is still here alongside a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The 4500mAh battery charges at 18W that’s handy for the fast and large 6.81″ 120Hz FHD+ IPS LCD.
At the back are four Zeiss cameras, featuring a 64MP f1.9 sensor, 12MP f2.2 ultrawide, and a pair of 2MP lenses. Upfront is a 24MP Zeiss optics with video recording up to 1080p@30fps. Expanding the Zeiss experience is Zeiss Cinema Capture and Edition, which is a two-in-one camera and editing app. Additionally, Action Cam mode lets you capture video at 60fps with OZO audio recording. Like most Nokia phones today, Nokia 8.3 5G is part of the Android One program that guarantees two years of software upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. On top of that, you get free 100GB Google One storage for free for six months.
