While Huawei has undercut the Snapdragon 765G by releasing the Kirin 820, the company doesn’t mind opting for a MediaTek chipset to make its phones less expensive. A case in point is the newly-announced Huawei Enjoy Z 5G in China. It’s powered by Dimensity 800 5G for a starting price of CNY 1699(~P12,000) for the 6GB/64GB. The 128GB version costs CNY 1899(~P13,500) while the top model featuring 8GB/128GB will set you back at CNY 2199(~P15,600). The Enjoy Z 5G will be available for pre-order on China’s Vmall and JD.com on June 1. We’re assuming that the global version will launch under a different moniker (if there is one).
Aside from the affordable 5G chipset, Huawei Enjoy Z enjoys the 90Hz IPS LCD with a 180Hz touch sample rate. However, you will have to settle for a teardrop notch instead of the more popular hole punch cutout for the 16MP selfie cam. Speaking of cameras, the back features 48MP f1.8 sensor, 8MP f2.2 ultrawide lens, and 2MP f2.4 depth. You can go for up to 10x digital zoom should you wish so. Interestingly, Huawei has opted to use a nano-memory slot instead of the typical microSD. Previously, this was only available on higher-end models but the company appears to be pushing for the new standard already. Fortunately, the headphone jack still lives on but the battery is on the smaller side at 4000mAh.
Huawei Enjoy Z 5G is available in Dark Blue, Sakura Snow Clear Sky, and Magic Night Black.
