After weeks of speculations, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi K30i in China. As listed on JD.com, the Redmi K30-like phone has a price of CNY 1899(~P13,500) and CNY 1999(~P14,200) for the 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB, respectively. Although it’s teased in blue, red, purple, and white colors, only the blue color is available. What’s more, is that the sale will start on June 2. There’s no word yet regarding Philippine availability.
We initially thought that the Redmi K30i would come with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset but it seems like Xiaomi has decided to stick with the Snapdragon 765G that’s faster than the Snapdragon 730g on the Redmi K30 4G. This also means that 5G connectivity is available. From the design down to the innards of the K30i, nothing has changed when compared to the vanilla K30. However, the 64MP quad-cameras has been downgraded to 48MP quad-cam with the popular Sony sensor. If you’re planning to buy the Redmi K30, the K30i offers near-flagship performance but with a camera sensor from last year.
