
Along with the other smartphones in Asus Zenfone 5 series, the Zenfone 5Z was officially introduced during the Mobile World Congress 2018. And now, we were given a chance to test the unit. Here are our first impressions of the device.

The Asus Zenfone 5z comes with a dark blue rectangular box with their signature tagline and phone model embedded in gold color. And at the back is, of course, some relevant information of the device.
Upon opening the box you’ll see the Zenfone 5z and underneath contains the silicon clear case, user guide, Type-C cable together with the adapter, and earphones with extra silicon earbuds.
The Zenfone 5Z is built with an aluminum body and a glass front. At the back is the vertically aligned dual camera setup with an LED underneath, rear mounter fingerprint scanner and the company branding.
The Type-C charging port, microphone, speaker grille, and headphone jack all in the bottom. Physical buttons are located at the right side while SIM and micro SD trays are on the left.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z dimension measures 153 x 75.7 x 7.9 mm weighing 155 grams.
Overall, the Asus Zenfone 5z design hasn’t changed that much. The signature back panel with concentric ring pattern distinguishing Asus devices is still used. So, there’s nothing to be excited about when it comes to the design.
The Asus Zenfone 5z sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD notched display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
What caught our attention is the vibrant display of this smartphone. It gives its users great visual experience which can be customized. (Settings > Splendid)
This is great for those who are conscious of colors and is into high graphics games. With top of the chipset and good screen display is a good combination for a great gaming experience.
The Asus Zenfone 5z sports a dual 12 MP with f/1.8 aperture + 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture, gyro EIS, dual-LED (dual tone) flash which is paired with an 8 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, gyro EIS, 1080p. Here are some sample shots:
The Asus Zenfone 5Z is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 along with an Adreno 630 GPU. It is packed with 6GB of RAM coupled with 128/256GB internal storage variants. This smartphone is fueled by a 3300 mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
