As the Christmas holiday approaches, a new text scam has emerged, targeting individuals who have engaged in online shopping for festive gifts and outfits.
Given the surge in parcel deliveries during this season, delayed shipments are expected. Unfortunately, scammers are exploiting this situation through deceptive SMS messages.

Last night, a concerning text was sent to my number, containing a suspicious link. The message claimed that a parcel delivery had failed and another attempt would be made. To prevent the return of the parcel, recipients were prompted to click on a provided link to confirm their address.

Adding to the concern, a similar message was received from a different number, featuring an even more suspicious tone with the use of intricate Tagalog words.
This serves as a warning to all Christmas shoppers to exercise caution. If you receive such messages, refrain from clicking on any links. Instead, verify the status of your deliveries directly with the courier or your online shopping applications.
Additionally, report any suspicious messages to local authorities to help prevent further scams.
