On schedule, ZTE has announced two new smartphones in China, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro, and the Axon 40 Ultra.
For specs, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1000 nits peak brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. It is powered by the 7nm Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
Camera-wise, it uses a 100MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a pair of 2MP lenses for macro and depth. Upfront is a 16MP selfie camera.
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, on the other hand, boasts a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED curved full screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, up to 1500 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Its display also has a third-generation 16MP under-screen camera with a full-screen blue diamond arrangement, independent pixel driver, distributed transparent circuit, and UDC Pro screen display chip.
Under the hood, it comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
For photography, it is equipped with triple rear cameras consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor with OIS, a 64MP Sony IMX787 ultra-wide shooter, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 5.7x optical zoom and OIS. The smartphone can record 8K video with all three of its rear cameras. Also, it can keep all three cameras active simultaneously, allowing users to quickly switch between focal lengths.
