ZTE Axon 40 Ultra to launch on May 9, specs, renders leaked

ZTE recently announced that it will unveil its latest Axon 40 series in China on May 9. The series is expected to consist of the ZTE Axon 40, Axon 40 Pro, and Axon 40 Ultra.

Ahead of its official launch, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra has surfaced online revealing its specs and renders. In addition, the device has appeared in the database of the TENAA certification platform with its major specs. Check them out below.

According to leaks and the TENAA certification, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will sport a 6.8-inch AMOLED or OLED full curved screen with FHD+ (2480 x 1080) resolution and a high refresh rate. Its display will also house a 16MP under-screen camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, it is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage, while the battery capacity will be 5,000 mAh with 66W fast charging support.

For photography, the Axon 40 Ultra will allegedly come with a 64MP + 64MP + 64MP triple rear camera setup. They will also all have 8K video capture support.

Additionally, it will boot Android 12-based MiFavor UI for OS. Other rumored features include an IR Blaster, stereo speakers, and X-axis linear motor. The device measures 8.41mm in thickness and weighs 204 grams.

ZTE has yet to reveal the official information about the smartphone. Pricing will be unveiled at the launch.
