DJI has officially unveiled the DJI RS 5, its latest professional camera stabilizer, in China.
The main upgrade is the new RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module.
This magnetic add-on displays a live camera feed on the gimbal’s touchscreen, allowing users to tap a subject to activate tracking. It supports people, vehicles, and pets, and can track subjects from up to 10 meters away.
DJI says the system can quickly re-lock onto a subject if it temporarily leaves the frame, reducing the need for gesture controls or external accessories.

Motor performance has also been improved, with DJI claiming up to a 50% increase in peak torque. The RS 5 uses DJI’s fifth-generation stabilization algorithm, which is designed to handle fast movements and vertical shooting more smoothly.
For usability, the RS 5 includes a built-in electronic handheld adapter for one-handed operation and low-angle shots. A real-time Z-axis stability indicator has been added to help users manage vertical movement. Switching between portrait and landscape modes is now faster and does not require extra accessories.
It features adjustable leveling knobs on all arms and a foldable locking design for quicker setup and transport.

Battery life is rated at around 14 hours, with fast charging taking about one hour. An optional high-capacity battery can extend usage to approximately 30 hours.
For the price, the DJI RS 5 is priced at CNY3,099 for the standard version, while a higher-end bundle costs CNY3,899. It is now open for pre-order in China.
