Xiaomi has decided to not include their key feature, the infrared sensor, to their latest Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. This feature allows you to control electronics using your phone instead of remote control.

According to the source, while using the Redmi 6 they noticed that the IR sensor is missing in hands-on photos posted on ITHome which was confirmed by the website. And they added that Redmi 6A do not have this feature either.

Xiaomi was also known by this feature because it is really handy and useful on household, however, it was removed and we do not know the reason why. We’re seeing that Xiaomi might not include this on the following smartphone that they are planning to release.

On the other hand, Xiaomi Redmi 6A comes with a 5.45-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 that runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Redmi 6A is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
