Xiaomi was set to unveil their upcoming Mi 7 this year but instead, the company chose to release the Mi MIX 2S as their flagship phone of the year. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was launched April last year, and recent reports say that its successor, Mi 7 may set its debut date at the end of the month or before half of this year.
The giant tech company posted on their official Weibo account a new teaser showing that Xiaomi will be having a launch event held at Shenzhen. Yet, the details and other information on the date and timing of the Xiaomi’s event weren’t shown in the said teaser.
Along with the speculated unveiling of the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 7, it is also expected that the 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone and Mi Band 3 fitness tracker will be released on the same date.
As for the key specifications, it is said to be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 packed with RAM variants of 6GB/8GB.
Xiaomi Mi 7 is believed to be the first Android phone that will debut with 3D facial recognition. Aside from this, a lot of speculated features has surfaced in the recent months, revealing that it will arrive with a large notch just like the iPhone X, its glass back panel to house vertically aligned dual camera setup, wireless charging, and the under-display fingerprint sensor.
Meanwhile, any information about the 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone is not yet disclosed. Even though the Mi 7 isn’t yet out in the public, Xiaomi is rumored to be developing its advanced version which also could be the 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone.
