Last March 24, 2021, Xiaomi Corporation made a report regarding their audited consolidation results for last year, 2020.

In the report, it states that the company had total revenue of RMB 245.9 billion, which made an increase in their revenue year-over-year of 19.4%. An adjusted net profit for 2020 amounted to RMB13.0 billion which is 12.8% year-over-year. This shows Xiaomi’s stable growth when it comes to their revenue and profit.

On the other hand, the company is leading when in growth, especially when smartphones are shipped internationally. Amounting to RMB152.2 billion revenue from smartphones with a 24.6% year-over-year growth and 146.4 million units shipped globally and a year-over-year 17.5% growth. The report, also included that the company maintained the third spot worldwide when it comes to units shipped. They also achieved the highest YoY (year-over-year) growth compared to its global competitors. Also, a 51.9% growth in mainland China was achieved by the company with the highest smartphones shipped compared to other companies.

Internationally, Xiaomi made revenue of RMB122.4 billion which amounts to 34.1% growth. The smartphone company even achieved selling in more than 100 markets around the world, while IoT products were sold to more than 80 markets. In Q4 of 2020, overseas internet revenue also increased by 55.1% YoY. This is all according to Canalys Q4 2020 smartphone analysis.

XIAOMI STRENGTHENED LEADERSHIP

Also, last year was the launching of Xiaomi’s Smartphone x AIoT Strategy which made the company maintain its edge especially in being the leading brand. The company surely made an impact by establishing its position as the leading premium smartphone company. A total of 10 million premium units were sold last year and this is all over the world. Xiaomi has also established its dominance as it showcased last January its remote charging technology and come on March 29, the company would even surprise its consumers.

According to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, they have clearly grown and have become stronger when it comes to smart living. Since last year, 324.8 million IoT units are connected to Xiaomi’s IoT platform, while 6.2 million users have at least five or more units hooked to the platform.

This surely shows how much the company has grown despite the pandemic we are all in. According to Xiaomi Corporation, they were not excluded from the COVID-19 pandemic but recovered and maintained its steady growth. They have been partnering with both upstream and downstream companies to further improve, accelerate, and resume work production. Thanks to Xiaomi’s devices, communication with our loved ones has been improved and is still improving as days go by.

“Due to the easing of lockdown restrictions in major markets during the second half of 2020, our business performance has managed to stage an impressive rebound. We continued to execute our “Smartphone × AIoT” (AI + IoT) strategy and our solid performance for the year demonstrates the resilience and competitiveness of our business model,” according to Xiaomi Corporation.
