The Xiaomi 18 Pro Series is set to launch in China this month.
Aside from its launch, Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Pro Series will come with a new Super Pixel 2.0 display featuring built-in hardware-level privacy protection.
The panel uses Xiaomi’s M11 display technology, a new green light-emitting material, and a full RGB pixel layout. Xiaomi claims the new material improves light efficiency by 20%, while the display can reach up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
According to Xiaomi, the display can deliver clarity similar to a 2K panel while consuming power closer to a 1.5K screen. These claims have yet to be independently tested.
The privacy feature is designed to reduce what can be seen from the side of the screen. Xiaomi has also teased Smart Privacy Display, which can apply privacy settings to certain apps or sensitive content.
The feature is somewhat similar to Samsung’s built-in Privacy Display introduced on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which also uses the display hardware to limit visibility from side angles.
Leaked information previously mentioned passwords, payments, transfers, and messages as possible triggers for Xiaomi’s privacy feature, but these details remain unconfirmed.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Series will launch in China on September 23. Pricing, complete specifications, and availability outside China are expected to be announced during the launch.
