Xiaomi 14T vs vivo V40 vs realme 13 Pro+ Triple Comparison

We are back with another comparison, but this time we are going to compare three devices, the realme 13 Pro+, the vivo V40, and the Xiaomi 14T.

All three devices are recently launched and come with some notable features. Which of these three devices offers the most value? Let’s find out.

Design and Build

First, their design and build comparison. When it comes to their dimensions, the vivo V40 is the thinnest with a 7.6mm thickness, 7.8mm for the Xiaomi 14T, and 8.2mm for the realme 13 Pro+. As for their weight, the realme 13 Pro+ weighs in at 185.5 grams, making it the lightest, followed by the vivo V40 at 190g and the Xiaomi 14T at 193g.

In terms of design comparison, I prefer the realme 13 Pro+ since it comes with a vegan leather back panel, which offers a good grip and is comfortable in the hand. This is followed by the sleek and elegant appearance of the vivo V40, and lastly, the simplistic approach of the Xiaomi 14T.

The realme 13 Pro+ offers the better look and lightest build. However, when it comes to rear protection, both the vivo V40 and the Xiaomi 14T offer an IP68 dust and water resistance, which is better than the IP65 rating of the realme 13 Pro+.

Choosing among these three devices for comparison is a bit hard. If you don’t consider their spec sheet and are only looking for a good-looking device, then the realme 13 Pro+ is the best choice out of the three.

Display

Next is their display. All three devices use an AMOLED display, which is great. Both the vivo V40 and the Xiaomi 14T sport a 1.5K resolution and HDR10 + support, while the realme 13 Pro+, despite its price, only comes with an FHD+ resolution.

Both the vivo V40 and the realme 13 Pro+ offer 120Hz refresh rates, and they both have dedicated display protection. The V40 has a Schott Xensation Alpha, while the realme 13 Pro+ uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The Xiaomi 14T, on the other hand, offers up to a 144Hz refresh rate and has support for Dolby Vision.

When it comes to brightness, the vivo V40 offers the highest peak brightness at 4500 nits, followed by the Xiaomi 14T at 4000 nits and the realme 13 Pro+ at 2000 nits. Despite the differences, all of them can be used outdoors without problems.

In terms of performance, all three deliver impressive displays thanks to their AMOLED panels. They all offer good viewing angles and vibrant colors with sharp details.

When choosing the best display, the Xiaomi 14T, despite the lack of display protection, offers the most value out of the three.

Camera

Moving forward to their cameras, both the realme 13 Pro+ and the Xiaomi 14T carry a triple camera setup, while the vivo V40 only offers a dual setup.

The realme 13 Pro+ camera consists of a 50MP OIS main, a 50MP periscope telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide, while the Xiaomi 14T sports a 50MP OIS main, a 50MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide.

The vivo V40, on the other hand, has a 50MP OIS main and a 50MP ultrawide. For front-facing cameras, both the realme 13 Pro+ and the Xiaomi 14T sport a 32MP selfie, while the vivo V40 features a 50MP selfie shooter.

Regarding their rear cameras, all of them produce incredible results with a wide dynamic range and a good amount of detail and sharpness. The realme 13 Pro+ offers the clearest images with sharper and better color distribution.

Their ultrawide cameras also perform great with no noticeable distortions around the edges. But out of the three, the vivo V40 offers the best quality with sharper details.

For selfie comparison, the vivo V40 delivers the best quality. Although all of them capture true-to-life skin tones, the V40 excels in color reproduction and clarity.

In terms of video recording, both the realme 13 Pro+ and the vivo V40 can shoot up to 4K@30 FPS, while the Xiaomi 14T can go up to 4K@60 FPS. For selfie videos, all of them can shoot up to 4K@30 FPS.

In the camera department, all of them offer unique traits. The Xiaomi 14T allows you to shoot 4K@60 FPS, the vivo V40 features an aura light portrait system, and the realme 13 Pro+ shines with its top-notch telephoto capabilities.

If portrait and night photography is your passion, then the vivo V40 is the go-to option. If you’re looking to shoot videos at the best quality possible, then the Xiaomi 14T is the choice.

However, if you want to capture good images from a distance, the realme 13 Pro+ is the right option.

Performance and Benchmark

Now let’s talk about their power. The Xiaomi 14T runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra, the vivo V40 runs on Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and the realme 13 Pro+ runs on Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

They all offer 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but the realme 13 Pro+ we have comes with 512GB of storage.

As for software, all of them run on Android 14: the Xiaomi 14T with HyperOS, the V40 with Funtouch 14, and the realme 13 Pro+ with realme UI 5.0.

All three devices for comparison can easily handle multitasking and gaming, delivering impressive results for productivity or entertainment. However, among all the chipsets mentioned, the Dimensity 8300 Ultra offers the highest performance.

The disappointing part is that the realme 13 Pro+, despite being the most expensive one, comes with a lower chip.

Although it can handle anything you throw at it, you can still see the difference in performance.

Battery and Charging

Now for their battery comparison, the vivo V40 offers the biggest battery at a 5500mAh capacity, followed by the realme 13 Pro+ at 5200mAh, and the Xiaomi 14T at 5000mAh. Both the realme 13 Pro+ and the vivo V40 support 80W fast charging, while the Xiaomi 14T only comes with 67W.

Out of the three, the vivo V40 is the best option regarding its battery, as it offers a higher battery capacity along with decent fast charging.

Price

Finally, regarding price comparison, all of them offer two storage options, but for this comparison, we will only mention their 12GB + 256GB configuration.

The Xiaomi 14T is priced at PHP25,999, the vivo V40 at PHP26,999, and the realme 13 Pro+ at PHP28,999.

All of them have unique features that make them stand out. However, when it comes to overall value, the Xiaomi 14T offers the most in terms of pricing.

Still, this doesn’t mean that the other two devices are bad. The vivo V40 offers top-notch camera performance, while the realme, despite being overpriced, provides a premium feel and look.

However, having a premium look doesn’t catch the eye of most consumers since we all want the best performance for our money. So if you are looking to buy a smartphone and these three devices are on your list, I would suggest that you opt for the Xiaomi 14T.
