WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will let users switch between different accounts on the same device. This is a much-needed tool, since people who have more than one WhatsApp account have to either clone the app (which only works on some Android devices) or sign in to a different device. With the new multi-account feature, users won’t have to do any of these hacks to switch between their accounts.
WhatsApp Will Support Multiple Accounts
The WhatsApp feature watcher WABetaInfo was the first to talk about it. They said that the feature is only available in the test versions of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.17.7 and 2.23.17.8.
Tap on the icon next to the QR code in the app’s settings to see if you have access to the multi-account tool on your WhatsApp account. If they are eligible, a card with the choice to add another account will show up at the bottom. Then, they can put in their phone number and password for the new account.
Users can switch to a different account by tapping the same icon (next to the QR code) and choosing the account they want to use. Each account can be used on the same device and has its own chats, alerts, and settings.
You can’t use it yet if you aren’t a beta user. You can try to join the Google Play Beta Program for WhatsApp, but it’s currently full and not taking new members.
