vivo has officially unveiled OriginOS 7 globally. Here’s what’s new.
OriginOS 7 introduces new animations that respond to gestures, including spring effects and smoother scrolling.
It also adds Origin Workbench for running multiple windows and Snap-Up Engine, which optimizes system resources during events such as flash sales and ticket releases.
vivo also highlights long-term performance improvements. The company says OriginOS 7 has a 10% shorter app cold-start time, 11% faster app page switching, and 14.4% higher rendering efficiency. Its Memory Fusion system can also free up to 25GB of additional storage on a 256GB device.
For AI, Jovi can work across phones and PCs for tasks such as reading files, summarizing information, and handling productivity tasks.
OriginOS 7 also adds AI-powered features for transcription, meeting summaries, call answering, PDF reading, and file searches.
The system also gets a redesigned interface with Dynamic Glow, updated home screen visuals, translucent materials, new icons, and the Wiggle Theme. Users can also customize wallpapers and Always-On Display elements through StickIt.
vivo says OriginOS 7 has been tested for long-term performance through a 72-month anti-aging test conducted in its labs.
On the other hand, the vivo X500 series now runs on OriginOS 7, which is based on Android 17.
