Just as Synaptics launched its first in-display fingerprint scanner, Clear ID FS9500, the device to first integrate it has already been confirmed. The brand to use it will be one of the top five Chinese smartphone brand, VIVO.
“Synaptics Shipping First In-Display Smartphone Fingerprint Reader With Vivo via @forbes,” as Synaptics mentioned in a tweet. As the device is tapped open, an illuminated fingerprint image will appear. All it has to take is to press the image to scan the user’s in-screen fingerprint scanner. Synaptics has also identified that their in-display scanner will only work on bezel-less OLED infinity displays.
It was also mentioned that the company aims to 70 million units of Clear ID sensors. Yet, there is still no news what will be the name of the Vivo 2018 device. Some say it might be the XPlay 7 leaked a month ago, but who knows? it’s best to stay updated until it gets launched.
