HTC recently promised that the unlocked HTC One A9 will eventually receive the Marshmallow update and so they did. However, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is expected to hit it high on the mid-ranger earlier than many expected.

This version of Marshmallow features a few known features such as Doze, which puts an inactive phone into a sleep state, saving up decent power, when not in use. It will also feature a new app permission offering, which will allow the users to allow or deny certain feature-to-feature activities. Additional updates, like the added emojis, specifically on the A9, with a, said 200 added emojis and a few fixed bugs on the process.
