Top 5 Reasons Why OPPO A92 Is a Great Mid-Range Buy

In 2020, finding a mid-range phone is indeed a lot harder than it used to. Not only because of the sheer number of options out there but also the fact that a lot of affordable phones are getting better and better. Sometimes, we even hold a higher standard when shopping for a mid-range phone versus a high-end one, purely because we want to get the best bang for the buck. With the OPPO A92, the company’s newest phone on the market should be on your to-buy list, and we have the top five reasons why it’s a great mid-range buy today even if the competition is very, well, competitive.

1. Loud and Clear Speakers

Most affordable smartphones today overlook the speaker’s quality. You can have the best performance and cameras but you can never have the best speakers. Luckily, OPPO A92 hasn’t forgotten audio-centric users as it’s equipped with dual-stereo speakers for a loud and crisp sound quality. On top of that, Dirac 2.0 technology is present which automatically adjusts the audio quality for the best experience based on what you’re doing, such as watching videos, listening to music, or playing games.

2. Large Display That Cares About Your Eyes

At 6.5″ diagonal, OPPO A92’s screen is at the standard size of modern smartphones. And with the presence of a pinhole cutout for the selfie camera, aka Neo-Display, as well as 1.73mm near-invisible side bezels, there’s more room for content consumption. For a mid-range phone, it’s impressive to see a 90.5% screen-to-body ratio which is mostly found on high-end ones. What’s more, is the eye protection certification by TÃœV Rheinland. The screen will adjust automatically based on your daily usage and reduces harmful blue light whenever you need it to.

3. A Striking, Premium Design

OPPO adopted a well thought out design with the OPPO A92. Not only it looks good in video and images (and in-person), but the design cues ensure you have a better experience whenever you hold the device. The 3D quad-curvature on the back allows for that smooth and consistent feel. While you can always choose the Twilight Black color which is elegant yet sophisticated, the Shining White will make it harder for you to stick with what you’re used to. It’s just that beautiful.

4. Good Performance, Even Better Battery Life

Gone are the days when you have to charge your phone at least twice a day. With the 5000mAh battery, you can comfortably use OPPO A92 without worrying about a low battery warning before dinner. Pushing the device to two days of use without needing to charge is even possible, thanks to the efficient Snapdragon 665 which is also a capable chipset when it comes to casual gaming and day-to-day tasks. And with ColorOS 7.1, you can do a lot more without the worry of battery draining. All thanks to the lightweight yet feature-packed package of OPPO’s UI skin. Should you need to charge, the 18W fast-charging brick easily replenishes the tank in less than two hours.

5. Go Wide or Ultrawide (At Night)

Of course, we can’t forget about cameras which is probably the reason why you’d want to purchase OPPO A92 in the first place. The main camera that you’ll be using here is the 48MP f1.7 sensor that’s capable of delivering ultra-clear video and photo in both day and night — all thanks to Ultra Night Mode 2.0. You don’t even need a telephoto lens as the 2x zoom preserves the details of the subject. If you want a wider field of view, the 8MP f2.2 lens offers a 119-degree POV which also enables ultra-smooth video capture. You can also record slow-motion videos of up to 120fps and up to 4K resolution for the sharpest quality. Lastly, you have the 16MP selfie camera housed inside a small cutout. As expected, it’ll provide you pleasant-looking photos with the aid of AI beautification.

Now that you know why OPPO A92 is a great mid-range buy, you can pre-order the device until June 26, 2020. Upon release, you’ll get a free Rock Space P62 Pro Power Bank worth P1,299. To avail, you can visit OPPO’s authorized retail stores nationwide or visit its flagship Lazada and Shopee stores.

  1. Ok, good points. Now my 2 cents. Its a hard sell because 1.) SD 665 has been used by Redmi Not 8 and Realme 5 last year, less than $10k price for both. I get that this has features that are not available on those devices, but then again, that is to be expected since this is a new device.

2.) Price they are asking is steep (almost P16k), knowing how oppo and vivo’s marketing works, this is just normal for them.

3.) the customer is better off buying the huawei nova 5t or other mid range offerings from other brands.
