TECNO Mobile is pushing to win the AI Camera Technology Race with its own TAIVOS Lab. This imaging tech is behind CAMON 18’s cameras.
TAIVOS Lab, short for TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution lab, was created to enhance photography and videography through the latest technology. The tech focuses on “innovative and cutting-edge technological breakthroughs” for the brand’s mobile imaging technology.
“Based on these grand objectives, our TAIVOS laboratory studies our devices extensively to make some deeper innovations that our users will enjoy and benefit from. We want to redefine how the mobile camera is perceived and what it can do for our users,” said Jiangtao Li, Senior Director of TECNO Imaging Product and Head of TECNO TAIVOS Labs, when asked about how the lab came about.
TECNO TAIVOS certified cameras could reach up to 4,500 fine-tuning settings thanks to the 3A Algorithm and ISP (Image Signal Processor) module. Pictures are sharpened to be more inclusive of all demographics and skin colors. The comprehensive Material Library covers nine (9) skin types and 76 categories, enabling improved visuals even in low-light situations on the TECNO CAMON 18 Premier.
Furthermore, the TECNO TAIVOS Lab is in the advancement of the Screen Inspection Process. This ensures that TECNO screens and cameras are fine-tuned to provide users with bright and vibrant yet accurate colors. It also has an Image Algorithm Technology that uses AI algorithms for deep-learning technologies such as Image Super-Resolution. The Lab has also patented various technologies like the CAMON 18 Premier’s Galileo Algorithm Engine. In addition, the gathered and labeled data from the lab has helped applications such as the gender recognition feature that can be also found in the CAMON 18 Premier.
TECNO Camon 18 series
To recap, the TECNO CAMON 18 series were recently launched in the Philippines. It includes the TECNO CAMON 18, CAMON 18P, and CAMON 18 Premier. They all possess camera features refined by the company’s TAIVOS Imaging Lab.
