Sony Philippines has announced that it will release its latest APS-C mirrorless cameras — particularly the entry-level Alpha 6100 and the flagship Alpha 6600. While the prices are yet to be determined, in the US, the 6100 has a price of $750 (~P39k) for the body alone while the 6600 is priced at $1400 (~P73k).
Both Alpha 6600 and 6100 features 24.2MP Exmos CMOS image sensor with BIONZ X image processor and front-end LSI. Autofocus goes as fast as 0.02 seconds with 425 focal-plane PDAF and contrast-detection AF points covering 84% of the image area. There’s also improved Real-time Tracking by Sony’s algorithm.
Both features ISO range from 100-32000 (expandable to ISO 50 – 102400). In the case of 6600, some of its best features include 5-axis in-body image stabilization, integrated headphone jack, dust & moisture resistant build, as well as 4k video recording in 35mm format. While you can play HDR (HLG) videos without the need for color grading, S-Log3 and S-Log2 Gamma profiles are provided.
Launching with the two new mirrorless cameras are the E16-55mm F2.8 G standard zoom lens (SEL1655G) and the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS super-telephoto zoom lens (SEL70350G). Sony will announce soon the availability and prices for these products.
