Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, designed as a more budget-friendly or mid-range option for affordable smartphones. The new chipset, identified by its code name SM6475-AB, shares similarities with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 but comes with some key differences.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 does not support the 144Hz refresh rate at FHD+ resolution that is available with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, making it a less powerful option but.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 features a combination of eight CPU cores, including four 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores for performance and four 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores focused on efficiency.
The Qualcomm chipset also incorporates the Adreno 710 GPU, and it supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, along with UFS 3.1 storage.
While it shares much of its architecture with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is underclocked, which affects its performance slightly.
