Sennheiser Plans to sell Consumer Business

Sennheiser is planning to sell its consumer business and a well-known company might be interested in buying the said business. Recently, Andreas Sennheiser and Daniel Sennheiser, the co-CEOs of the popular audio brand and the grandsons of the founder, announced in a statement that they are looking for a partner who would invest in their consumer business all the while focusing the company’s resources in their other three businesses. Currently, Sennheiser has four businesses namely, Pro Audio, Business Communication, Neumann, and Consumer Electronics.

The popular audio brand company emphasizes that they want a partner who would utilize the strengths of its products which can offer the best sound and unique sound experience. On the other hand, Sennheiser wants to focus their time, effort, and resources on the other three businesses and expand their footing in the global market. Their goal was to have all “its business units emerge strengthened from the planned repositioning.”

As of now, Sennheiser is about to talk to potential partners and it seems that one name keeps popping out: Google. Although there are no official statements from the two Google is likely a potential partner for Sennheiser.

If Google plans to compete further with Apple, which they bought Beats Electronics in 2014, partnering with Sennheiser is a good call. This would initially launch Google’s audio business and even enhance its technology with what Sennheiser has. This also potentially would help elevate even more the quality for Google’s Pixel phones as well as Google Home smart speakers.

It is too early to call it but we should keep our heads up on who would be Sennheiser’s partner in the future.
