Some camera smartphones are highly focused on improving their main camera function rather than its front. However, with today’s generation promptly going towards the “selfie generation” we can’t hide the fact the excellent front camera’s are good improving points on handsets, with that in mind, we figured to list down 5 handsets that are budget-friendly and selfie efficient at the same time.
More posts and reviews
First on the list is the newer Cherry Mobile front cam focused phone dubbed as the Flare Selfie. We’ve recently highlighted its excellent camera quality on our reviews and comparisons on the handset itself and we we’re convinced that its camera performance is truly top-tier. It’s dual pairing of 16MP for both back and front sensors help consistently provide excellent outputs, especially in the selfie category.
The only downer on this device, as stated in our review, is its rather flawed front facing flash, which barely did much to contribute to the output. Despite its flaws, the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie is no doubt, one of the local selfie phone today. The handset is priced at Php7,995 in any Cherry Mobile store nationwide.

Upon its launching here in the Philippines, many have been captivated by the Redmi Note 3, thanks to its very convincing specs list and a very reasonable price. It’s currently one of the best mid-rangers here in terms of the system though it obviously has a few problems. In terms of front cam shooting, the handset delivered perfectly in terms of color accuracy and exposure level, making it one of the best front-facing cameras in the mid-range category. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is priced at Php10,500 through online stores nationwide.

Zenfone’s very own “selfie handset” that has been very popular with zen lovers and non-zen lovers alike. The Zenfone Selfie is a well-accepted handset that surely deserves all the love it’s getting. Like the Cherry Mobile Flare Selfie, this camera phone is paired up with a camera duo of 13MP. It’s very vibrant and appealing selfie outputs matched with a good white balance and excellent exposure rating will entice anyone. The handset is currently priced at Php11,695 in Lazada PH.

Here’s a handset that we didn’t expect would do well in the camera department. The budget Starmobile Up Ultra has a lot of doubts about it and honestly, we had as well. Truth be told, we weren’t expecting much on the handset in terms of performance, but it sure took us by surprise in the shooting category. Despite lacking the finesse and power as some handsets have, the Starmobile Up Ultra performed admirable in the front cam department, dishing out some pretty decent white balance and exposure rate, which pretty much gave us a good mark in this particular handset. The Up Ultra is available for Php6,490 in Lazada PH.

The Lenovo K3 Note or particular A7000h here in the Philippines was a huge success back in 2015. Similar to Asus, the K3 Note also had a huge number of users here in the Philippines and is still getting a lot of love, despite the Vibe K4 Note and K5 Note setting its sights to the PH market. In terms of selfie shooting, the K3 Note was and always will be a performer. It did great on one of our earliest reviews and its camera, both back and the front did a really good job, despite being a radically affordable mid-ranger. Currently, the A7000 or K3 Note is priced at Php7,499 in Lazada PH
