Samsung has just received the green light from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for an exciting sleep apnea feature in the Samsung Health Monitor app. This cool feature, can now help you spot signs of sleep apnea, a serious sleep disorder where breathing pauses and restarts.
Already approved in South Korea last October, the feature allows you to detect potential sleep apnea issues over a two-night monitoring period. Scheduled for release between July and September this year, you’ll be able to track your sleep twice for over four hours within ten days to use this nifty feature. Just remember, you need to be 22 or older!
While the specific Galaxy Watch models haven’t been officially confirmed, there are whispers about the Galaxy Watch 6 series being in the spotlight. In Korea, both Watch 6 and Watch 5 families are said to support the feature.
Samsung’s focus on sleep doesn’t stop there; they’re all about it. Last year, they rolled out the One UI 5 Watch software update, and in January, they teased a health-tracking ring called the Galaxy Ring. Smart rings, like this potential Galaxy Ring, are perfect for sleep tracking, smaller, comfier overnight, and with a longer battery life than most smartwatches.
