There’s nothing seems stopping Samsung from producing Pro versions of its mid-range series. The latest product to carry the title is the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro (P7,500 price) which brings a beefier specs and improved design over the Galaxy J3 2016. So what does the J3 Pro brings to the table? Let’s find out in our unboxing and hands-on.

Stay tuned for full review of Galaxy J3 Pro soon.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro

The retail package of the mid-ranger includes the unit in Gold color, startup guides and a set of papers, 2600mAh replaceable battery, 1amp power adapter, and the USB data cable. The phone supports USB OTG too thru its microUSB 2.0 port.

Hands-on in build, design, performance

Now on the device, the Galaxy J3 Pro resembles the Galaxy J5 and J7 but it’s a little boxy. The capacitive navigation buttons are non-backlit and the fingerprint is missing on the home button.

Unfortunately, the cost-cutting extended up to the ambient light sensor and LED notifications–both are missing.

The sides and corners are rounded and made from plastic including the physical buttons. The microUSB 2.0 port is positioned at the bottom while the audio jack is placed on top.

The back cover is snugly fitted with no creaks or hollows across. The battery is replaceable and needs to be removed when inserting cards into the dual SIM and microSD card slots.

On the back is an 8MP camera that records up to 1080p video and is flanked by a LED flash and surprisingly weak mono speaker.

The real kicker here is the back provides a metal impression on distance but looking closely and touching the spun texture will make you realize it’s plastic instead.

Hardware and specs

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 410 64bit chip with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It’s paired with a 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and up to 64GB microSD card.

Battery life on the device is so far impressive with above average endurance rating but we will still further test and include the date in our full review.

The phone is already available in online stores for about P7,500 and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Let’s know what specific features you want us to check in our full review and comparison.
