Which is a better buy between the Realme X and Realme 3 Pro?
Pop-up vs Notch
From the back of things, both Realme X and Realme 3 Pro sport polycarbonate bodies with glass-like finishes. Up front bears the noticeable difference.

Realme X has an immersive fullscreen display with AMOLED panel providing deep blacks and vibrant colors. Whereas the 3 Pro comes with a natural-looking IPS LCD with wide viewing angles. Despite the difference in display quality, both come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Better RAM/Storage vs Expandable Storage
With Snapdragon 710 being the chipset of these devices, expect similar performance in day-to-day tasks and games. Should you wish for more RAM, Realme X is available up to 8GB. However, only the Realme 3 Pro supports a dedicated microSD slot of up to 256GB.
For camera enthusiasts, you might enjoy using the 48MP f1.7 + 5MP f2.4 main sensors of the Realme X. It will provide sharper photo quality compared to the 16MP f1.7 + 5MP f2.4 combo on the 3 Pro. The story is reversed, however, for the selfie camera. A massive 25 f2.0 sensor is found on the latter while the former has a decent 16MP f2.0 lens but in a pop-up form.
Battery, Fingerprint Scanner
There’s a significant difference in battery capacity here — 4045mAh for the 3 Pro and 3765mAh on the Realme X. Both support VOOC 3.0 fast charging — reaching 50 to 55 percent in 30 mins. But do take note that the latter device has a standard and more advanced USB Type-C port. Aside from faster charging, it allows users to transfer files at a faster rate.
Last but not least are the fingerprint scanners. You will experience faster fingerprint unlocking with the 3 Pro due to being a capacitive type. Although X has a futuristic approach with an under-screen type, it’s still less reliable and slower in comparison.
Realme 3 Pro is about to arrive in the Philippines starting at P12,990 (4GB/64GB) up to P14,990 (6GB/128GB). As for Realme X, it’s estimated to start at P14,990 (4GB/64GB) and could go up to P16,990 (6GB/128GB).
It’s a close call for the two devices, but we think it’s a matter of preference when it comes to the selfie cameras. Either way, both are good phones with good prices.
