realme TechLife Air Purifier Review – A Must-Have in Your Home

realme recently launched and added the realme TechLife Air Purifier to their TechLife ecosystem alongside the realme Cobble Bluetooth Speaker. It’s not too late for these products to sell in the market as we’re still limited to go outside. Having an Air Purifier at home to have clean air around us should be normal and a must.

realme TechLife Air Purifier is an Air Purifier with a HEPA H12 filter that filters air particles with a diameter of 0.3um and above. It also has a 3-stage filtration system, and the brand says it has a 99.95% filtration efficiency.

The realme TechLife Air Purifier build is made of hard plastic with matte white color, which is aesthetically pleasing and a great addition to your home devices. I’m in favor that it doesn’t have a glossy finish. The realme TechLife Air Purifier size is 35.6 x 19 x 42.1cm, which is as wide as a 15-inch laptop and as tall as a small table. It only weighs 46 kg and you can easily move it around wherever you want to place the air purifier inside your home. However, I suggest you don’t place it in some parts with a heavily polluted area to give the filter more lifespan.

Meanwhile, it has a large intake grille in the front and an outtake grille up top. Located also at the top are the soft-touch buttons with led indicators each. Below is the 220v power cable and a rubberized foot to protect the floor and prevent slips.

Inside the front cover is the Pre-filter, just like the ones you can see on an air conditioner, and then the HEPA H12 Filter. It also has an Air Quality sensor right above the filter case.

I really like the realme TechLife Air Purifier design, but if I have one thing to replace, I will make the icons on the soft buttons appear smaller and a little more compressed to each other. But again, it has a clean and minimal design which is a thumbs up.

Setup

Setting up the device is unchallenging. After removing the Air Purifier from the box, you just need to take out the filter’s plastic packaging before turning it on. It’s easy as ABC; I just opened the front cover by pushing the sides at the top, then removed the pre-filter, and I just grabbed the HEPA H12 filter out then removed its protective packaging. The next thing is to place the HEPA H12 filter and all the other components back altogether. I was also dumbfounded that they put a “Front” sign in the HEPA H12 filter and in the pre-filter, so users will easily know which side it is.

When all items are in place, stand the Air Purifier on a flat and stable surface, then plug it into a 220V socket and turn it on.

Controls and functions

On top of the Air Purifier are all the controls to operate the device. It has the power button, auto mode, night mode, filter replacement indicator, 2-8 hours timer, and a button for fan speeds with three steps. They are capacitive soft touch and lights up to indicate the type of function you are using. It also has Air quality indicator light in the middle with; Green: Good Air Quality, Orange: Moderate Air Quality, and Red: Bad Air Quality.

  • Auto mode will automatically select the fan speed according to the air quality.
  • Night Mode will automatically lower the fan speed and will also reduce the brightness of indicator lights.
  • The filter replacement indicator will be lit up whenever the filter needs to be replaced. It has a total of 2800 hours before it indicates that you need to change the filter. Pressing and holding it for 3 seconds will turn off the light indicator and reset the filter’s operating time which is pretty straightforward.
  • Timer – Set a specific hour for it to shut down automatically. You can select 2-4-8 hours, depending on your desire.
  • Fan speed – just like other fans, it has 3 levels; 1 for low fans, 2 for medium fans, and 3 for high-powered fans. The third fan is pretty loud, but that means it has a more effective filter while the 2nd step is just fine, and the lowest power has no noise at all.

Performance

The realme TechLife Air Purifier is packed with a HEPA H12 filter that is expected to filter and remove 99.95 percent of 0.3-micron particles, including PM2.5 particle pollution that can increase health risk. These PM2.5 particles are also what N95 respirators filter. This means they have legit protection against small airborne particles, including animal dander, pollen, dust, hair, and other allergens. The HEPA-type filter also doesn’t heat up, so it’s safe to leave the air purifier turned on all day.

As written earlier, the realme TechLife Air Purifier has a built-in Japanese-tech Sharp air quality sensor, so you can immediately know how the device performs inside your house. It also has a 3-layer filtration structure, and I believe it is the device’s cover, pre-filter, then the HEPA H12 filter. I always got a green indicator light when I used it in my small bedroom, which means I have good air quality, and it is effective. I also used it in our living room, and it surprisingly performs well enough.

realme TechLife Air Purifier boasts a high-level purification capacity of 330m³/h CADR and is suitable for a maximum indoor area of 419 square ft. (39 sqm). They said that their Air Purifier for a standard indoor area of 1059 ft³(30 m³) could only take 14.4 minutes to complete the purification process. That is quite time-efficient to clean the indoor airborne particles in a small house, apartment, and condo.
