realme C85 5G Review

realme is back in the entry-level market with a new addition to its C series, the realme C85 5G.

It comes with a huge battery, which is also one of its new features. But aside from those two, what else does this phone offer in our current market? Will it be competitive enough? Let’s find out!

Design and Build

The realme C series has seriously leveled up, and the realme C85 5G proves it. It’s the first C-series phone with 5G plus a massive battery. The back has a smooth, velvety finish that doesn’t attract fingerprints, and even though the phone is on the heavier side, the rounded corners make it comfy to hold. The reflective pattern on the back also adds a nice touch.

The phone is 8.4mm thick and weighs 215g. It’s built tough with military-grade drop protection and IP68/IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, which is pretty impressive for an entry-level device.

On the right, you’ll find the volume rocker and power button. On top is a microphone, and at the bottom are the USB-C port, speaker grille, and another mic.

Display

Up front is a 6.8” HD+ IPS LCD with a 720×1570 resolution, a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 1200 nits peak brightness.

Even with just an HD+ screen, colors look good, brightness is solid outdoors, and the slim bezels help with the overall viewing experience. Watching videos or scrolling? No issues at all.

Cameras

The realme C85 5G comes with a single 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera and an 8MP selfie shooter.

Photos look vibrant with good detail, though highlights can be inconsistent. Low-light shots are acceptable but tend to look soft.

Selfies look natural and clean, perfect for socials. Both front and rear cameras shoot up to 1080p at 30fps.

Performance

Powered by the Dimensity 6300 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (plus up to 16GB expandable RAM), the phone handles daily tasks well. You might notice slight slowdowns when multitasking heavily, but nothing deal-breaking. Mobile Legends runs smoothly even during long sessions.

Battery

This is the main highlight: a huge 7000mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. It lasted around 19 hours and 23 minutes in the video loop test. Charging from 0–100% took about 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Price

The realme C85 5G is priced at PHP14,999 for its 8GB + 256GB configuration. Overall, the realme C85 5G stands out with its long battery life, durability, and 5G support.

The only real drawback is the HD+ display, which might turn off some users. But if you need a reliable, long-lasting phone that’s ready for the future, this one’s a solid pick.
