Last February 2024, realme released the C67 to the market. Now, they have launched another addition to the C series line-up which is the realme C65. Let’s find out if it lives up to the anticipation and proves itself as a worthy addition to the realme family.
Design and Construction
Its back is made out of plastic with a starlight-like design. For me, it kinda looks like glitter giving it a sassy chic appearance.
As for the camera module, it has a 3D-like design as it is placed on top of a plate that is made with polycarbonate and 10% glass fiber, separating it from the starlight back design. Still, the plate itself doesn’t shy away from a touch of glamour, with its subtle glimmers of glitter that add an extra layer of charm to its overall look.
Since this is made out of plastic, it is not a fingerprint magnet. So you can ditch the case and use it as is. But, if you’re a bit clumsy and drops your phone at times, then a phone case is a must unless you want a wounded phone.
The realme C65 weighs the same as its predecessor at 185 grams, however, there’s a slight difference on its thickness as it is 7.64mm compared to the realme C67’s 7.59mm. But holding both phones feels like pretty much the same. So, don’t worry as gripping this device won’t be a problem.
This device is available in 2 colorways such as, Starlight Black, and Starlight Purple.
Looking at its sides, the frame as well is made out of plastic. On the left side, you’ll see the sim card tray with a dedicated micro SD card which is expandable up to 2TB.
On the right side, you’ll find the volume rockers and the power button. At the bottom, are the speaker grille, a 3.5mm audio jack port, a microphone, and a USB C port.
Display
Now, let’s talk about it’s display. The realme C65 comes with a 6.72” IPS+LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The device can reach up to 950 nits, so there’s surely a clear visibility even on outdoor usage.
On top of the screen, you’ll see the under-screen selfie camera which is still similar to it’s predecessor.
Plus, this device is rated IP54. So you won’t have to worry about dust and accidentally splashing your phone with water. That’s another pro for clumsy people out there!
Camera
Now, let’s talk about its cameras. The realme C65 is equipped with a dual rear camera system which consists of 108MP and 2MP.
Its rear cameras output good color accuracy and balanced distribution. Photos are natural looking, however, they tend to emphasize deep blacks, but this characteristic adds a touch of depth which enhances the photo quality.
As for its selfie camera, it is equipped with an 8MP camera shooter. Personally, I’m not a fan of it as photos look pale and slightly washed out even in a well-lit environment. Despite its drawbacks, I liked how natural-looking the images are.
In terms of video recording, both rear and selfie cameras can record up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Software and Performance
The realme C65 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage which runs on Android 14 realme UI U Edition. Plus, its RAM can be expanded up to another 8GB via RAM expansion. Below are the benchmark scores:
Antutu Benchmark V10 – 286,297
Geekbench 6 CPU – 386 (Single-core) ; 1,280 (Multi-core)
Geekbench 6 GPU Open CL – 587
Geekbench 6 GPU Vulkan – 1,125
3D Mark (Wild Life) – 752
Video Loop Test – 19 hours and 20 minutes
We tried gaming with this device and it is capable enough to handle the Mobile Legends in a high graphic and high frame rate settings. It can also handle Genshin Impact, however, the app crashes twice, and the third time I opened the app, that’s when I was able to play with it.
Also, the realme C65 comes with tons of bloatware, but all those can be uninstalled so you won’t have to worry about it. However, if you don’t feel like uninstalling those apps, you can leave it there as you can expand its storage up to 2TB via an external memory card.
In addition to that, this device is equipped with special features that realme calls “real Essentials” such as Air Gestures, Dynamic Button, Riding Mode, AI Boost, Kids Mode, Mini Capsule 2.0, Rainwater Smart Touch, Smart Code Scan, and Customized Lowest Brightness—making the experience more accessible and fun
Battery
Moving on to its battery, this device has a capacity of 5,000mAh accompanied by a 33W SuperVOOC charger.
In our standard video loop test where its brightness and volume are at 50%, the realme C65 lasted for 19 hours and 20 minutes. That is almost 4 hours above the realme C67 video loop test which scored, 15 hours and 23 minutes before the battery total ran out.
When it comes to charging, it took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes to juice it up from 0% – 100% which is 5 minutes slower than its predecessor.
Conclusion
Alright, with all those being said, let’s now come down to its price point. The realme C65 is priced at Php 9,999.
This is perfect for users who are looking for a phone that can cater to both productivity and a bit of gaming, with additional intelligent features without breaking too much of a penny.
