Wireless Earphones are what I would say is the trend right now, but nowadays, we rarely find affordable good quality earphones. So this time we are going to talk about the newly released earbuds from Realme. This is the “Realme Buds Q2s”. It was released at the same time as Realme GT Neo 3, which is the perfect combination for Realme Buds Q2s. But the question is, is it worth buying for PHP1,490?

Pros
Great ANC that fits its price
Has multiple ear tips to choose from that can fit your ears
Stable Connection
Can Optimize the earbuds using the Realme Link app

Cons
Occasional touch control issues
Lack of Volume Control

UNBOXING

There isn’t much to talk about unboxing it, as the moment you lift the lid the unit itself greets you. Underneath, there are two extra pairs of ear tips, manuals, and a USB Type-C cable for charging.

BUILD & DESIGN

The Realme Buds Q2s consist of three color variants. Paper Green, Night Black, and Paper White, which is the unit that we have. The Realme Q2s Earbuds have a 34.8g pebble-shaped charging case with a translucent cover. We think that one of the downsides here is that this one lacks Water-dust resistance, so it should be handled with care.

It has an LED indicator in front of its case that shows the pairing and battery status, and on the back of it is the USB Type-C charging port.

While the earbuds only weigh 4.2g and are very light on the ear. They fit perfectly and do not easily drop out of your ear; this is a good pair of TWS earbuds for workouts and if you are on a trip. I also found these buds comfortable for long-lasting playback since it features an AI Environmental Noise Cancelation for calls, plus it has an IPX4 splash resistance which can provide quite good protection from water damage.

PERFORMANCE & TOUCH CONTROLS

It is powered by a Bluetooth 5.2 fast connection that has a pairing distance of up to 10 meters. It supports Dolby Atmos for stereo sound enhancement. By using Realme Link App, we can choose from different profiles to support our current needs, whether it’s listening to music or watching movies.

Here are some of the profiles that it offers. “Bass Boost” adds a punchy sound to a song, perfect for hip-hop or R&B listeners who like a more strong bass music. “Balanced” is a feature that provides a normal effect on a song or in an audio that you are listening to. And the other one is “Bright”, which can give more clarity on what you are listening to.

It also has features for gaming; the Game Mode feature provides 88ms super low latency that brings synchronized audio when it comes to gaming, thus never experiencing stuttering within the game.

You can change its controls by clicking the button Settings. In this part, you can change the touch controls of these earbuds based on your preference.

The Realme Buds Q2s has pretty decent performance for its sound quality. It has a good ANC feature that can easily block off unwanted noises in the background. This earbud supports SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs, which means that the sound quality of Android and iOS is almost identical. Thanks to the 10mm dynamic driver, we enjoyed our video and music playback experience.

BATTERY

As for its battery, it has three batteries. One is in its charging case, and the other two are in the earbuds. Playback can last up to 33 hours, and for a budget TWS earbuds. I would say that it has pretty good performance when it comes to its battery life. Juicing up the charging case from 0 to 100%, took us about 2 and a half hours. Despite it being long, the battery life that it offers can last you up to 2 days.

VERDICT

Realme never disappoints when it comes to price-to-value products, and the Realme Buds Q2s are one of those. Its AI ENC for calls features, to its compact size with useful touch controls, and even though we experience a long charging time which we think is one of the drawbacks of this TWS. Still, for the price of PHP 1,490, the Realme Buds Q2s is a pretty solid choice.
