It was only last month when OPPO’s sub-brand released the “Budget King” Realme 3. However, the company is back at it again, this time, with the Realme 3 Pro. Seemingly another mid-range performer under the budget segment, it’s looking like Realme 3 owners should’ve waited for this one.

Which is a better buy between the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro?
In terms of design, both the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro sport glass and polycarbonate build, waterdrop notches, fingerprint scanner, and dual camera placements. Where the two differs is the finish on the back — with the newer device having an S-shaped reflection for a crafty look.
As for the display, Realme 3 Pro takes a clear advantage with the crisper FHD+ resolution.
Although both are running on Android 9.0 Pie based on ColorOS 6, the performance on the Realme 3 Pro gets a huge upgrade thanks to its Snapdragon 710. The same can be said on RAM and storage that goes up to 6GB and 128GB, respectively.
Upgraded hardware
Due to the upgraded hardware, it’s expected for the newer device to perform better due to a 16MP + 5MP dual main camera with a larger f1.7 aperture. The deal is even better as it’s capable of recording up to 4K @ 30fps and FHD @ 120fps. The front camera gets a huge upgrade too with a massive 25MP sensor.
Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth 5.0 arrives on the Realme 3 Pro together with better Wi-Fi ac standard. However, you still have to make do with a micro USB 2.0 for some reason.

Smaller battery but faster charging
Lastly, the battery capacity is smaller at 4045mAh compared to the 4230mAh of the Realme 3. But in terms of fast charging, the Realme 3 Pro packs a whopping 20W Super VOOC feature — reaching 50% charge in just 30 mins.
For the price, the Realme 3 starts at P6,990 (3GB/32GB) up to P9,990 (4GB/64GB). On the other hand, the Realme 3 Pro is estimated to arrive up to P10,990(4GB/64GB). Whether you’re upgrading to the newer device (coming from Realme 3) or buying a new budget phone, the Realme 3 Pro is a great pick.
