Which is a better buy between the Huawei Y9 (2019) and Realme 2 Pro?
At a glance, both midrange phones look alike. But upon holding them, the Realme 2 Pro is made out of plastic from the shiny metal-looking sides to the glass-like finish on the back. Clearly, the Huawei Y9 2019 takes the design with its real glass and aluminum build. Not to mention its gradient hue design.
Up front, both displays sport 1080p IPS LCD screen with Realme sporting a teardrop notch. But then again, you can’t hide the notch for some reason.
Due to the smaller node process of the Kirin 710, it’s a slightly more efficient performer for Huawei.
Both again are coming in with dual main camera setup featuring 16MP + 2MP depth sensor. While quality is pretty much a toss up, expect better low-light images from Realme 2 Pro with its larger f/1.7 stop. Moreover, you can record up to 2160p @ 30fps.
Selfies on the other hand will go to the Huawei Y9 2019 due to its dual camera setup for better self-portrait shots.
Lastly, longevity will go to the Huawei Y9 2019 yet again due to its larger 4000mAh battery.
Now, for the price. Realme 2 Pro is estimated at Php10,990(after taxes) while Huawei Y9 2019 already retails for Php12,990. Either way, both are great for their respective prices. If anything, Realme 2 Pro proves that phones on midrange performance can still get cheaper.
