We’re back with another gaming review, and we’re testing out the realme 14 5G.
It’s one of the models in the realme 14 series 5G lineup, featuring a mecha-inspired design, a massive 6000mAh battery, and it’s powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 5G processor.
Today, we’ll be testing six games to find out if the realme 14 5G is a solid choice for your gaming needs. Let’s find out!
By default, the game sets the graphics to High and the frame rate to High as well. However, both Ultra settings are available, so we switched everything to max.
Performance-wise, we got a smooth gaming experience with no signs of frame drops or stutters, even during intense clashes. If you enjoy playing Mobile Legends, this device can handle it with ease.
Result: With max settings, the game consistently stayed above 60 FPS.
Its default setting is on Performance mode, but we adjusted everything to the highest available settings. 120 FPS is available, but only when paired with High graphics, Medium resolution, and Medium effects quality. The performance was impressive, delivering consistent FPS.
We didn’t experience any stutters or frame drops, even during clashes. Even the opening sequence of the game, which usually causes lag on other devices, was handled well.
Result: With 120 FPS, High graphics, and Medium resolution/effects, we got around 80–97 FPS.
By default, it runs on Very High graphics and Max frame rate. Although Ultra frame rate is available, it only works with Low graphics, so we stuck with the default.
The performance was smooth and responsive—no stutters or frame drops—which made landing flick shots and engaging in gunfights feel fluid and enjoyable.
Result: With Very High graphics and Max frame rate, we got around 54–60 FPS.
We set the graphics to Low and enabled 60 FPS. In exploration, we noticed some frame drops and stutters in highly detailed areas, but they were bearable.
However, the game struggled in combat due to the intense visual effects, making it difficult to rely on timing for parries and dodges. We wouldn’t recommend using this device for end-game content, but it’s good enough for daily tasks.
Result: With Low + 60 FPS, we got around 24–27 FPS in exploration and 34–44 FPS in combat.
Settings were again on Low with 60 FPS. Since this game isn’t open-world, exploration felt smoother, though certain towns had occasional frame drops.
Combat was easier to handle than in Withering Waves, thanks to reduced visual clutter. Dodges and parries felt responsive, at least until the device warmed up, which caused slight performance drops.
Result: On Low + 60 FPS, we got 37–43 FPS in combat and 45–47 FPS in exploration.
Using the same Low + 60 FPS setup, the game ran noticeably better than the previous two. It was more responsive, with fewer frame drops and stutters. We even tried playing Abyss mode, and it handled ultimates and combos impressively well. After an hour of gameplay, though, the phone started to feel warm.
Result: With Low + 60 FPS, we got 39–44 FPS in exploration and 45–50 FPS in combat.
For the price of PHP 17,999, the realme 14 5G is a decent choice if you’re gaming on a budget.
It performs well in competitive games and holds its ground with heavier titles, though it struggles a bit with more graphically intense content. Still, it delivers a gaming performance that’s reliable enough for casual to moderate gamers.
