We are back with another gaming review, and today we’re going to test the gaming prowess of the POCO X8 Pro.
In this article, we used it on a total of seven games, four light games and three graphically demanding titles.

For the four light games, we will start with Mobile Legends.
Default settings are mostly set to High, but we will bump everything up to the maximum available settings and test it out. As for gameplay performance, as expected, it runs perfectly.
There were no performance issues, no stutters, and no frame drops. At this price point, it’s rare to see a device struggle with this game. My only concern is that after one match, the device felt warm.

FPS Result: 116 to 121 FPS during both laning and team fights.

Second is League of Legends: Wild Rift. Default settings are set to Performance mode with 60 FPS. We will switch to custom settings, enable 120 FPS, and test its performance.
Compared to other devices, this one runs very well. There were no major frame drops during the opening sequence, and the menus remained smooth despite visual clutter.

Once in the Rift, the game ran smoothly with no noticeable stutters, which is impressive. If you are planning to climb ranked, this device is a great partner.
FPS Result: around 116 to 121 FPS.

Third is Call of Duty: Mobile. Default settings are set to Very High graphics paired with the highest frame rate option.
We can set the frame rate to Ultra, but it can only be paired with Medium graphics. As for gameplay, performance was smooth and very responsive.
We got a consistent FPS both inside and outside of gunfights, which is great. Even 360-degree flick shots felt responsive and stable. Just like the first two games, if you are planning to grind ranked, this is a solid device.

FPS Result: around 115 to 121 FPS.

Last is Asphalt Legends. Default settings are set to the default preset paired with 60 FPS. We bumped it up to the High-quality preset with 120 FPS enabled.
As for performance, the graphics quality was great, and gameplay remained smooth with no stutters or frame drops. FPS was also consistent, which is good.
However, despite enabling 120 FPS, the game only managed to reach around 57 to 61 FPS.

FPS Result: around 57 to 61 FPS (high preset with 120 FPS enabled)

Now let’s move on to graphically demanding titles, starting with Arknights: Endfield. We will set the settings to Medium graphics paired with 60 FPS.
Performance was surprisingly good. Combat was smooth, and dodging was easy to time. You can comfortably play most content on this device with little to no issues.
My only concern is that after around four minutes of gameplay, the device already started heating up, which may not be ideal for long sessions.

FPS Result: around 37 to 43 FPS (Medium settings with 60 FPS)

Next is Zenless Zone Zero. We will also use Medium graphics with 60 FPS.
Compared to Endfield, this game runs quite well on the device. We tested a stage in Shiyu Defense, and performance was impressive. Parrying and combo timing felt responsive and accurate.
However, I did notice occasional frame drops during combat. Despite that, there were no major issues overall, and the game remains very playable, even for endgame content.

FPS Result: around 48 to 60 FPS (Medium settings with 60 FPS)

Lastly, we have Wuthering Waves. Settings are also set to Medium with 60 FPS. Surprisingly, performance was smooth overall.
Exploration had no noticeable stutters, and combat also ran well. We completed a floor in the Tower of Adversity, and it maintained stable performance throughout.
However, after loading screens, some assets occasionally failed to load properly, resulting in missing terrain or NPCs for a few moments.

FPS Result: around 40 to 45 FPS both exploration and combat (High preset with 120 FPS enabled)
Overall, the POCO X8 Pro is a solid option for a mid-range gaming smartphone.
You won’t have any issues with games like Mobile Legends, Wild Rift, and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Graphically demanding titles do show some minor performance limitations, but they remain largely playable. If you’re looking for a POCO device for gaming, this latest model delivers solid performance.
