We’re back with another gaming review, and this time, we’re testing the gaming performance of the POCO X7.
Last time, we explored POCO X7’s features, camera quality, and overall performance, which you can read here. But the real question is, can it handle mobile gaming? Let’s find out!
Settings:
Let’s start with Mobile Legends. By default, the settings are set to Super Frame Rate with High graphics quality. We bumped the graphics up to Ultra to test its performance. The gameplay was smooth, with no stuttering or frame drops.
While the POCO X7 felt warmer after one game, it didn’t affect its performance. With Super Frame Rate and Ultra graphics, we averaged around 88 to 92 FPS.
Settings:
Next up is League of Legends: Wild Rift. The default settings are set to Quality Mode with 30 FPS. We switched to Custom, enabling 120 FPS with High graphics and Medium resolution.
The only time we experienced a stutter was during the opening sequence, but once in-game, it was a smooth experience with no frame drops. Unlike Mobile Legends, the device didn’t heat up after a few matches.
With 120 FPS, High graphics, and Medium resolution, we got around 86 to 97 FPS during clashes and 112 to 117 FPS outside of fights.
Settings:
Now for Call of Duty: Mobile. By default, it runs on Max graphics with Max frame rate. While Ultra frame rate is available, it can’t be paired with High graphics, so we opted for Ultra FPS with Low graphics.
The gameplay was smooth with no stutters, though FPS struggled to maintain a consistent 60. Still, it was a solid experience—gunfights felt responsive, and flick shots were easy to land. With Low graphics and Ultra FPS, we averaged around 57 to 62 FPS.
Settings:
Moving on to heavier games—first, Wuthering Waves. We set it to the lowest settings with 60 FPS. During exploration, FPS dips occurred in certain locations, and flying around caused stutters when rendering environments.
Combat wasn’t enjoyable—while daily missions were bearable, endgame content was frustrating. With Low settings and 60 FPS, exploration ranged from 33 to 40 FPS, while combat dropped to 17 to 24 FPS.
Settings:
Next is Zenless Zone Zero, tested on the same settings as Wuthering Waves. Both exploration and combat suffered from stutters and frame drops.
While 6th Street was manageable, Lumina Square was significantly worse. Combat was inconsistent, with freeze frames during combos, making the experience frustrating.
We only recommend playing dailies on this device. With Low settings and 60 FPS, exploration ranged from 22 to 34 FPS, while combat dropped to 12 to 23 FPS.
Settings:
Finally, Genshin Impact. Surprisingly, it performed better than Wuthering Waves and Zenless Zone Zero. Overworld exploration was smooth, with only minor stutters.
Combat, including a run in the Abyss, was surprisingly stable. Character swapping and ultimate animations were fluid, with no frame drops. With Low settings and 60 FPS, exploration ranged from 34 to 40 FPS, while Abyss combat averaged 45 to 57 FPS.
Overall, the POCO X7 is a solid choice for competitive games like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile, running them smoothly without performance issues.
However, it struggles with heavier games, Zenless Zone Zero was disappointing, while Genshin Impact delivered an unexpectedly decent experience.
The POCO X7 is available at PHP14,999 for the 8GB+256GB model and PHP16,999 for the 12GB+512GB version.
