Brave Launches “Origin” Paid Browser

Brave Software has launched a new, optional paid version of its browser called Brave Origin.

According to the company, Brave Origin is now available on desktop and Android, with iOS support expected in a future update (Brave v1.91).

It can be used either as a standalone browser or as an upgrade to the existing Brave browser.

The standalone version disables most features outside of Brave Shields, while the upgrade mode allows users to toggle selected features on or off through a new settings panel.

Brave Origin is priced at a one-time payment of USD59.99 (approx. PHP3,600).

One purchase can be used across multiple devices, though account activations are subject to a monthly limit.

Installation and activation vary by platform. On desktop, users can install the standalone version after purchase using a purchase ID. On Android, activation is done through the settings menu and Google Play purchase flow. Linux users can download and activate the version directly from Brave Origin Linux.

Brave says the Origin version will continue receiving privacy and security updates, while most new feature additions will remain in the standard browser.
