PLDT aims to switch DSL to Fibr plan with up to 100mbps internet speed

Tired of having a low-speed internet connection?

In two years, PLDT Incorporated aims to bring Fibr plan with speeds of up to 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps in the Philippines. With an allocated PHP 11 billion budget, the major telco plans to migrate their over 1.3 million DSL subscribers to Fibr-fast connectivity.

The PHP 11 billion budget is set aside for integrating Fibr ports across the country. Marco Borlongan, PLDT first vice president and head of Home Business stated that DSL only uses copper wire technology that only brings up to 15mbps. Compared to that, their Fibr plan will use fiber optic technology which could bring internet speeds up to 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps.
