Oppo takes the crown from Cherry Mobile as number 1 mobile brand

The startup giant is now officially the no. 1 mobile brand in the Philippines. That is according to the latest Canalys report in Q3 2018. It beats the big brands like Samsung, Huawei. It has also overtaken Cherry Mobile, a budget local brand in terms of shipments and sales.

Despite the contracting market shares and sales of smartphones in SEA or South East Asia, there are still countries that have experienced growth like Malaysia and Indonesia.

Oppo continues to dominate in the Philippines because of its affordable offerings like with the newly launched Oppo A7 and the Oppo F9. It has released its flagship offering too like the Find X and Oppo R17 Pro. Check out our full review of the Oppo R17 Pro here.

Not far behind is Cherry Mobile and vivo, which is another Chinese brand. In fact, vivo, is the sister brand of Oppo.
