OPPO Reno15 F 5G Gaming Review

OPPO Reno15 F 5G

After the local launch of the OPPO Reno15 Series, we’re taking a closer look at one of its lineup the OPPO Reno15 F 5G, to see if it’s a decent device for gaming.

Mobile Legends

Just like our previous gaming review, we’ll start with Mobile Legends. We set the graphics to the highest available settings to see if the device could handle it smoothly.

During gameplay, performance was smooth with no noticeable stutters or frame drops.

However, the device did feel slightly warm after one match. FPS remained consistent whether we were in team fights or just roaming the map.

FPS Result: 59-61 FPS (max settings)

League of Legends: Wild Rift

Next, we played League of Legends: Wild Rift. By default, the settings are on Performance mode at 60 FPS.

We switched to Custom settings and enabled 120 FPS to test its limits. We encountered a brief freeze during the opening sequence, which is common on many devices.

There were also minor stutters on the home screen due to visual clutter. Once inside the Rift, gameplay was smooth.

However, despite enabling 120 FPS, the device did not exceed the 60 FPS mark. Performance remained consistent during both laning and team fights.

FPS Result: 59-61 FPS (max settings)

Call of Duty: Mobile

We then tested Call of Duty: Mobile. By default, the game was set to High graphics with Max frame rate.

We switched the frame rate to Ultra while lowering the graphics to maintain stability. Gameplay performance was smooth, with consistent FPS and no noticeable stutters or frame drops during gunfights.

The device also did not feel warm even after several matches. If you’re planning to grind ranked games this season, the device is capable of delivering stable performance.

FPS Result: 60 FPS (low graphics; ultra frame rate settings)

Asphalt Legends

Next is Asphalt Legends, which is a new addition to our gaming review.

By default, the game runs at 30 FPS. We increased the settings to High quality with 60 FPS enabled. Even at higher settings, the device performed well with no visible slowdowns.

Animations were smooth, and visuals looked sharp. We did not encounter any frame drops or stutters throughout our gameplay.

FPS Result: 58-61 FPS (high quality;60 FPS enabled)

Genshin Impact

We then moved on to more graphically demanding titles, starting with Genshin Impact.

We set the graphics to Low at 60 FPS. Overall performance was fairly smooth with no major stutters. Loading times were slightly slower, but gameplay remained enjoyable. Exploration was decent with minor slowdowns, while combat stayed smooth even when triggering ultimate skills.

FPS Result: 30-40 FPS (low settings; 60 FPS enabled)

Arknights: Endfield

Next is Arknights: Endfield, also set to Low graphics with 60 FPS enabled.

When using the factory system, minor stutters and frame drops were noticeable due to visual clutter. In combat, however, performance was stable with no significant drops, even when activating ultimates and combo skills.

Players focusing on the factory system may experience occasional dips, but overall gameplay remains manageable.

FPS Result:

  • 30 FPS in combat
  • 18-30 FPS in the factory system

Wuthering Waves

Lastly, we tested Wuthering Waves. Settings were adjusted to Low with 60 FPS enabled, but performance was poor.

The game suffered from frequent stutters and frame drops, especially during combat. The device also became noticeably warmer compared to the other titles tested.

Since the game heavily relies on precise parries and timing, the unstable performance can negatively impact gameplay. For this particular title, the device is not recommended.

FPS Result: 11-23 FPS (low setting; 60 FPS enabled)

Verdict

Overall, the OPPO Reno15 F 5G is a decent option for gamers who focus on competitive titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile.

While it delivers acceptable performance in most cases, the experience is not consistently smooth in heavier titles.
