The Philippines boasts the fifth-fastest internet in Southeast Asia, according to the most recent Speedtest Global Index report from internet measurement company Ookla. PH in List of Fastest Internet in SEA
The Philippines ranked fifth on the list of top countries with a median download speed of 78.69Mbps. As per Ookla principal analyst Sylwia Kechiche, it has been “steadily climbing” in the Speedtest Global Index rankings.
Kechiche credited the advancement of the internet to telecoms’ efforts to modernize and upgrade their outdated copper lines to fiber while expanding their reach to new and first-time customers.

The Philippines’ constant increase in the Ookla rankings is “a result of the long-term investments and hard work of all the telco operators in the country.”

With peak download and upload speeds of 210.83 Mbps and 234.21 Mbps, respectively, PLDT was recognized by Ookla as the fastest fixed broadband service provider in the Philippines for Q1–Q2 2022.
