OnePlus Open is OnePlus’ First Foldable Smartphone

OnePlus Open

Today was a very significant day for Samsung, as you are probably already aware. All of Samsung’s newest innovations, including the Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, the Galaxy Watch6 family, and the Galaxy Tab S9 range, were introduced at a single massive event that took place in Korea.

But OnePlus is one of the few big-name smartphone brands that doesn’t have a foldable device yet, but that’s about to change when the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus Open, as has been rumored lately, is announced. The exact name of the device was a secret before but I guess not anymore!

The OnePlus Open is likely to be presented at the end of August at an event in New York.

The top screen of the OnePlus Fold will be an AMOLED screen with a size of 6.3 inches and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The outside panel is also believed to have a 20MP selfie camera in the middle of a punch hole.

The main 7.8″ LTPO AMOLED screen will likely have a resolution of 1,900 x 2,100px and a frame rate of 120Hz. Based on the images, it will have a cutout for its 32MP selfie camera in the top left corner.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm is believed to be the chipset, and it will come with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The OnePlus Fold is likely to have the same 50MP main sensor (IMX890) and 48MP ultrawide sensor (IMX581) as the OnePlus 11.

On the back of the OnePlus Fold, the third element is likely to be a 64MP telephoto camera.

There are rumors that the OnePlus Fold will come with a 4,800 mAh battery and 67W charging, which is a little less power than the OnePlus 11’s 5,000 mAh battery. OxygenOS 13.1, which is built on Android 13, should take care of the software, but it’s still unclear how OnePlus plans to add more features for the bigger screen.
