We’ve been releasing full comparisons of both midrange and flagship handsets recently, and of course, a comparison that focuses on their respective camera results must be done, as well. For our first sample set, we took these shots around 4 PM in a cloudy afternoon. Looking at these three photos, you’ll instantly see how the OnePlus 6T shot differ greatly in color representation. With the OPPO R17 Pro and the Pocophone F1 share the same warmer toned feel, while the OnePlus 6T’s photo leaned on to a more cooler and gloomy one.
Comparing the R17 Pro and Poco F1 daylit sample photos though, you’ll see that the R17 Pro’s photo looked brighter than the Poco’s. Also, the Poco shot has deeper blacks and contrast in all three.
Similar to the first sample photo set, the R17 Pro and Poco photos have the same warmer tone, whereas the OnePlus 6T with a gloomy feel. The Poco F1 also delivered a photo with stronger contrast than the two. In regards to detail sharpness, all three produced well-detailed and sharp photos.
These three smartphones delivered great looking photos with bokeh effect. All three phones separate the subject from the background well with the OPPO R17 Pro having the most blurred background of all three.
Going to the color representation, this sample set contradicts the previous photos. The photo with the most deeper blacks and higher contrast is the one taken by the OnePlus handset, the Poco with the lowest contrast and high-level highlights, and the R17 Pro that sits at the middle. The OPPO handset remained consistency being the brightest photo.
Looking at the three photos, you’ll instantly notice that the OnePlus and OPPO shots have the same warm tone while the Poco leaned on to a more cooler one. Looking at their saturation levels, the OnePlus 6T produced richer and vibrant colors compared to the others, then followed by the Poco, and lastly, the OPPO R17 Pro.
In this night-lit assisted sample photos, the OnePlus 6T shot undoubtedly wins. It brightens the overall shot without overcompensating the whole frame. Also, details are sharper on the OnePlus shot. The OPPO and Poco sample photos produced more natural or normal looking night-lit assisted photos, with the Poco’s shot being slightly darker than the latter.
Going to our night shots, the light coming from the fast-food building is stronger on the OnePlus photo. The OPPO R17 Pro was able to use the light source efficiently compared to the other two as it used the light source to lighten up the whole frame without overdoing it. The OnePlus got the second spot with its light output but still with sharp details, and the Poco coming as the least great-looking night-lit assisted shot for its dull and darker result.
The three handsets produced great selfies, thanks to their beautification technology. Aside from the beautification mode on, we also turned on the portrait mode. The photo that has the strongest bokeh effect is the OPPO R17 Pro. While the photo with the most natural looking skin goes to the OnePlus. The skin complexion on the Vivo V11 shot is fair from the face down to the chest area of the subject.
Comparing these three selfies, the OnePlus 6T produced the most natural-looking selfie even with the portrait and beautification mode on. Going to the next selfie, the AI beautification mode of the R17 Pro beautified the subject’s face without losing much facial details, this selfie also is the brightest and lightest among the three. The selfie on the Poco, on the other hand, made the subject’s dark/black features darker – like the eyebrows. Going to the bokeh effect, all three produced great selfies with bokeh.
